Lincoln Tubbs, PhD
Director Aqua Vaccines R&D, Elanco Canada Ltd.

Lincoln is Director of Elanco’s Aqua Vaccines R&D site at Victoria, Prince Edward Island. His role at the site is to deliver a pipeline of safe, effective and innovative vaccines for aquaculture. He leads multidisciplinary teams of molecular biologists, analytical scientists, fermentation and formulation experts, clinical scientists and veterinarians who work alongside customers and industry stakeholders to develop new products. Prior to his role of Director at the site, Lincoln led the clinical development team performing laboratory and field trials to demonstrate vaccine safety and efficacy.

His career spans several areas of applied fish health. Before joining Novartis and subsequently Elanco in 2011, Dr Tubbs worked in the Fish Pathology laboratory at the Ontario Veterinary College, where he was responsible for developing diagnostic techniques to support aquatic disease surveillance programs and aquaculture disease cases in the Province. He also worked as a consultant and led the fish health research program to support the development of New Zealand’s finfish aquaculture industry at the National Institute of Water and Atmospheric Research. Within this program he worked on biosecurity and aquatic parasite management strategies, which included the development of oral delivery technologies for anthelmintics in fish with commercial partners in Asia-Pacific.

Lincoln gained his PhD in pharmacology & biology from the University of Auckland; his thesis elucidated several aspects of the pharmacology of orally administered drugs in fish, including pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics, and the identification of new drug metabolites.

He currently lives with his family in PEI, Canada.
