PEI Science Fair Award Winners Best in Biotech!

Congratulations to the 2017 PEI Provincial Science Fair Winners of the BioAlliance “Best in Biotechnology” Awards. First place winners, Gavin Kerr and Neil Kelley, Grade 11 students at Colonel Gray Senior High School for their project, “ Isolation of new taxa of bacteria using a sponge iCHIP for the purpose of drug discovery”. Second place was awarded to Siddharth Arora, Grade 8 at Stonepark Intermediate for his project, “Pacemaker – A life saver”. And congratulations to third place finalist, Abbey Chapman, Grade 8 student at Stonepark Intermediate for her project, “Omega 3 – It’s a no brainer!” Over 350 students from schools across Prince Edward Island participated in the Provincial Science Fair, held at UPEI.
