Advanced Extraction Systems Inc. partners with Canada's Island Garden to introduce new modular extraction lab

Advanced Extraction Systems Inc. (AESI) announced today that it is building a state of the art supercritical fluid extraction system to produce high value cannabis extracts for Canada’s Island Garden Inc. (CIGI). The lab is completely portable and has a limited footprint, so it can be shipped across the globe. The new modular system is expected to be up and running at CIGI in the summer of 2017.

PEI student takes top honours at Biogenius science competition

Congratulations to Gavin Kerr from Colonel Gray High School in Charlottetown, awarded top honours at the Atlantic regionals of the Sanofi Biogenius Canada competition for his research project, “A Novel Approach to Bacterial Isolation for Drug Discovery" - aimed at providing a new resource for the discovery of novel bioactive natural products. Sanofi Biogenius Canada pairs young students with academic mentors to pursue real-world research projects. Kerr will compete in the national competition in Ottawa in May. Guardian Newspaper article.
Natural products and cancer immunotherapy selected in latest CECR competition

Natural Products Canada (NPC) is one of two new networks that has joined the Centres of Excellence for Commercialization and Research (CECR) program. It will receive $14 million over five years to establish four nodes in a national network for commercializing natural products for human and animal health, agricultural products and industrial chemicals. Spearheaded by the PEI BioAlliance, the Charlottetown-based NPC is the first CECR to be headquartered in the Maritimes.
