Deadline for submitting panels or individual presentations is December 1, 2006!

The Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO), the American Chemical Society (ACS) and the National Agriculture Biotechnology Council (NABC), invite you to submit proposals for three person panels and individual papers for the 4th Annual World Congress on Industrial Biotechnology and Bioprocessing. To submit a panel or paper proposal, go to the conference website and fill out the form electronically.  

What is the World Congress on Industrial Biotechnology and Bioprocessing?

The World Congress on Industrial Biotechnology and Bioprocessing is the premiere gathering of thought leaders, investors, researchers and business executives in industrial biotechnology, biofuels, bioenergy and bioprocessing. This year's conference will present the latest issues, innovations, market achievements and policy developments in the industrial and environmental applications of biotechnology. It will also provide exceptional networking and business development opportunities. The goal of this event is to attract participants with a wide variety of perspectives on industrial biotech and to speed technology transfer and the commercialization of this powerful biotechnology. This truly international conference will bring together academic, government, NGO, and business leaders from around the globe for a dynamic three day event.  

What is the process for submitting panels and papers? Panel Proposals for 90 Minute Sessions. Participants may submit proposals for panels that fit generally into the topic list provided, or they may submit new panel topics in the field of industrial biotechnology that have not been listed. Panels shall consist of one moderator (who does not deliver a formal talk) and three speakers or three speakers, one of whom shall serve as both a moderator and a formal speaker. Talks by speakers should include crisp power point presentations and should be no longer than 15-17 minutes to allow for questions and answers at the end of each session. Only complete panel submissions with confirmed speakers will be considered.  

Individual Speakers Individuals may also submit a single proposal for a 15-17 minute presentation that fits in one of the categories from the topic list. Other topics related to industrial biotechnology will also be considered. The World Congress program committee will review proposals and assemble selected submissions into appropriate panels.  

2007 Program Tracks 1.) Biofuels & Bioenergy (New technology for ethanol from cellulose, enhanced grain ethanol production, biological fuel cells, biological production of hydrogen and methane) 2.) Renewable Feedstocks (New/improved crops for biorefineries, forest & paper residues, sustainable feedstock production, new feedstock sources) 3.) Chemicals and Biomaterials (Renewable chemicals, biopolymers, bioplastics, high-value co-products, new tools in chemical production, new materials) 4.) Consumer Manufacturing (Food ingredients, cosmetics, pharmaceutical manufacturing, nano-biotech and novel applications) 5.) Business Development, Infrastructure & Public Policy (Commercialization, intellectual property, bioprospecting, policy, education, workforce training issues)
