BioAlliance, BioTalent Canada: Connecting and Advancing Women in BioTech
The BioAlliance partnered with BioTalent Canada recently to host a special presentation focused on Connecting & Advancing Women in Biotechnology. A large crowd turned out to The Guild in Charlottetown to hear a group of industry panelists discuss "Moving Beyond the Boundaries" - a national labour market report released this fall focused on women in Canada's bio-economy.
Guest speaker was Pam Gray, Director of Project Development, BioTalent Canada and the event was moderated by Dr. Jackalina VanKampen, Director of Pre-Clinical Services at Neurodyn and Adjunct Professor, Department, BioMedical Science at the University of Prince Edward Island.
Panelists included: Dr. Jennifer Slemmer, Instructor, Holland College Bioscience Technology Program; Maureen Mix, Human Resources Manager, Elanco Canada Ltd. PEI; Tracey Jewells-Treige, Associate Director, Projects, Sekisui Diagnostics Canada; Susan Rowe, Chief Operating Officer, Island Abbey Foods Ltd; and
Katherine Ballem – Manufacturing Manager, BioVectra Inc.
